Salt Room Generalist Job Title Salt Room Generalist Job # US19924 Requisition Type Regular Function State/Province Virginia City Blacksburg Region Posting Start Date Mar-12-2026 Division Information The Pet Care business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Job Summary Works in production performing a variety of general activities in the Salt Room including lifting, blending, dispensing of materials, machine operations, light assembly, cleaning and trash disposal and any other manual operation that would occur in the PHG manufacturing environment. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Work with associates in a team effort to further company goals concerning productivity, safety, and quality and Continuous Improvement Initiatives. Inspect and package salt product (bags, bucket, etc.) in a manner that meets or exceeds quality requirements. Safely and effectively pack out product in a timely manner as to not impede production. Safely and effectively perform all tasks associated to material additions. Serve as the first point of contact for operational opportunities. Implement immediate countermeasures and/or escalate when necessary. Perform operator preventative maintenance (PM) and support maintenance PMs as required. Must be able to safely operate power equipment in a manufacturing environment. Work from a MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform), such as scissor lifts or boom lifts. Ensure all material is properly labeled prior to transfer into or out of the salt room. Capable of physically and electronically performing changeovers as directed by supervision. Ownership of Flex as it applies to daily adjustments, accurate displays, and downtime reason codes. Education and Experience Profile High school diploma or GED required. Three months of manufacturing experience preferred. Required Skills Basic computer skills preferred. Work Environment Repetitive movements required. Must be able to lift 65 pounds without assistance. Must be able to work in confined spaces and at elevated levels. Must be available to work across multiple shifts. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must wear all prescribed PPE including, but not limited to: hearing protection, safety glasses, respirator and steel toed shoes.
