Production Associate

The Production Associate performs a variety of essential functions related to the manufacturing of products, including lifting, stacking, inspecting finished goods, palletizing, and supporting production line operations. This position is also responsible for identifying equipment issues, troubleshooting minor problems, and assisting with basic repairs while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. Works closely with production team members, cannery staff, and manager(s) to ensure efficient plant operations and product quality standards are met.

Full-Time, Hourly Job Requirements These are non-negotiable responsibilities performed on a regular basis. Performance will be evaluated based on these responsibilities and other assigned duties. 1. Production Operations Operate an assigned position on the production line and float between positions as needed to ensure adequate coverage. Report to assigned position in a clean, presentable state in accordance with company standards. Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift. Perform pre-production and post-production sanitation according to company standards. Assist with lifting, stacking, and palletizing finished products safely and efficiently. 2 . Quality Assurance Visually inspect all products during the assigned shift to ensure they meet the quality standards of Shawnee Canning Company . Inspect lot and batch coding to ensure proper product traceability. Attach lot number tags or other identifying labels to finished cases as required. Report any quality issues, defects, or abnormalities to a supervisor immediately for further inspection. 3 . Equipment Monitoring & Troubleshooting Monitor machinery during operation and identify potential issues. Troubleshoot minor machine problems and assist with basic repairs when appropriate. Report equipment faults or safety concerns promptly to management. 4. Other Duties Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management to support successful plant operations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum two (2) years of manufacturing experience preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills preferred. Forklift operation experience strongly preferred (training may be provided). Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining safety and quality standards. Additional Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Ability to lift or move 50+ lbs unassisted. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods. Ability to work in both hot and cooler production environments. Ability to work Thursday through Saturday, 12-hour shifts, with overtime as required on Sundays and/or other days as needed.
