Matern Staffing is hiring a Production Lead for a tile manufacturing client in Doswell, VA. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll keep daily production moving safely and efficiently while coordinating workflow, supporting operators, and making sure quality and productivity goals are met. You'll spend much of your shift working alongside the team, operating equipment, troubleshooting issues, completing changeovers, and stepping in where needed. You'll also train employees, track production results, and communicate priorities to help the team stay on track. This is a strong opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, and floor leadership experience who enjoys solving problems and helping a production team perform at its best.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

Salary:

$20-$23/hr

What You'll Do:

Lead daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals Cover equipment positions as needed for most of the shift while coordinating and supporting the team Perform basic daily maintenance, housekeeping, and changeovers to support smooth operations Use Excel to track production, downtime, scrap, and other basic daily numbers Use the internal system to keep work orders and inventory information accurate and up to date Be vigilant, communicate issues clearly, and help put better standards in place Coordinate staffing and workflow and escalate issues to management as needed Train and coach operators; set expectations, monitor performance, and communicate priorities

What You'll Need:

2+ years in manufacturing/production, including experience leading or overseeing others on the floor Experience performing machine setup, basic troubleshooting, and diagnostic review Experience, aptitude, and comfort working around moving machinery; strong focus on safety Forklift and pallet jack experience Ability to stand, bend, lift 50+ lbs, and work in varying temperatures Basic math/measurement skills and the ability to follow standard work and quality checks Comfort with computers; able to use Excel for basic data entry, tracking, and simple formulas Experience using a production or inventory system (preferred) Experience with continuous improvement (preferred)
