Position Summary The Production Laborer performs a variety of duties in support of safe, efficient, and reliable sawmill operations. This position is responsible for assisting with production processes, material handling, equipment operation, quality control, housekeeping, and other activities necessary to achieve established safety, quality, and production objectives. The Production Laborer is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety, follow established operating procedures, maintain consistent attendance and performance, and work effectively as a member of the production team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform all duties in accordance with company safety policies, procedures, and established safe work practices. Perform general production and labor functions throughout the sawmill as assigned. Operate, monitor, and assist with production machinery and equipment as trained and authorized. Handle, sort, stack, and move lumber, wood products, and other materials. Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment deficiencies, and maintenance needs. Assist with clearing materials, debris, and production interruptions in accordance with established safety procedures. Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas, equipment areas, and walkways. Follow production schedules, work instructions, and supervisory direction. Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers, maintenance personnel, and other departments. Support established safety, productivity, and operational goals. Learn and perform multiple production functions and provide coverage in other areas as needed. Participate in required safety meetings and training. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Ability to understand and comply with safety rules, operating procedures, and work instructions. Ability to work safely and effectively in an industrial manufacturing environment. Reliable and punctual attendance. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively as part of a team. Ability and willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and job assignments. Ability to identify and report safety, equipment, and operational concerns. Ability to work assigned shifts and overtime as required. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Previous sawmill, lumber manufacturing, industrial, construction, material handling, or related experience. Previous experience operating production or industrial equipment.

$20.71 per hour
