Seasonal Production Worker

Job Summary:

As a Seasonal Production Line employee for Douglas Fruit, you must be a team player who can follow instructions and demonstrate the necessary skills for safe and efficient packaging practices, good communication and a strong sense of teamwork. Ensure all packages are properly packaged and labeled.

Hours:

Availability of working on day and night shifts. Duties/Responsibilities Pre-sort using both hands to eliminate rots, debris, leaves, obvious defects, and any foreign material from the production line. Pack into appropriate bag, carton, tray, or other packaging following specific instructions. Inspect fruits for quality, size, appearance, and leaves before packing. Discard any fruit that has come in with any condition or severe defects. Report any issues or problems with fruits or equipment to the supervisor. Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards. Assist with providing guidance and coaching to new employees or others assigned to the packing line to ensure that work is being performed to standard, including proper defect identification. Complete other manual tasks necessary for manufacturing, sorting, and packaging as required by supervisor. Employees will be notified in advance if the responsibilities change or if there are new specifications in your area•

Machine Operators Education and Experience:

Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Prior experience working in the food industry is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is: Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift, push, haul and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Walking and standing for long periods of time.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Inside warehouse environment Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Seasonal roles offer a potential pathway to full-time employment based on performance. Additionally, seasonal employees who maintain perfect attendance and high performance standards but are not offered a permanent position will receive an $800 completion bonus.
