Job Description
Job Title:
Lab Technician Job Description Prepare samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmental samples. This role involves applying approved microbiological techniques and methodologies used in analytical testing. Responsibilities Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries. Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload. Maintain media and reagents as needed for daily microbiological testing. Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements. Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal. Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures, inoculating control organisms, running media controls, etc. Independently pursue an assigned series of processes, procedures, or tasks in accordance with policies/procedures and customer requirements. Maintain laboratory condition, including equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all procedures. Perform all activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner. Share information openly and timely. Essential Skills Strong attention to detail. Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs). Experience in a fast-paced laboratory setting. Proficiency in aseptic techniques. Quality control experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Degree in the Sciences is preferred. Candidates with laboratory or quality experience without a degree will be considered. Work Environment Work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday with shift start times between 4 - 6 p.m. The specific schedule will be provided upon confirmation. The work environment promotes learning and advancement opportunities, with a 90-day review period for potential pay increase based on performance metrics such as attendance and quality. Internal promotions are encouraged at both local and national levels. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bear Creek, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
