Job Description

3rd Shift Production Lead
  • Plastic Injection Molding Specialist

Ixonia, WI No Remote TYPE Direct Hire SALARY $1
  • $77,500 / yr ID WI59-2755777 POSTED Jun 18, 2026 3rd Shift Production Lead
  • Plastic Injection Molding Specialist Up to $60,000
  • Ixonia, WI Area
  • 100% Onsite
Modern, Debt-Free Facility The Opportunity:
Step into a critical, hands-on leadership role with a rock-solid, ISO-certified custom molder that treats its technology—and its people—with elite priority. While most plastics shops force night crews to fight ancient, breaking equipment, 90% of the manufacturing machinery here is less than four years old. Serving a highly diversified multi-market customer base, this debt-free organization offers unmatched job security and an enviable culture where the average employee tenure exceeds 10 years.
TECHNICAL DEPTH
2+ years of verifiable experience executing full plastic injection mold setups and advanced process troubleshooting
LEADERSHIP SCOPE
"Working Lead" capacity—staying close to the machinery while mentoring, guiding, and directing a small, focused 3rd shift production crew of 3 team members
EARNING POTENTIAL
Up to $60,000 annual base salary (fully scaling with processing depth and material literacy) + Full Corporate Benefits Package
WORK SCHEDULE
Consistent 3rd Shift layout running 11:00 PM
  • 7:00 AM (with flexibility to manage up to 9-hour shifts based on production transitions)
LOCATION
Greater Ixonia / Jefferson County corridor (Must reside within a dependable daily driving radius of the manufacturing plant)
COMPLIANCE
United States Citizens or Green Card holders only; corporate visa sponsorship is not available For a skilled molding technician who is tired of toxic night-shift chaos, cutting corners on quality, or dealing with unreliable legacy presses, this direct-hire tracking role is a breath of fresh air. Because our client operates entirely debt-free and continuously reinvests in state-of-the-art automation and brand-new machinery, you will have the actual resources you need to maintain peak process stability and zero-defect output. This isn't a desk job where you push paper; it's a high-influence, lead-by-example position. You will have total ownership over the overnight operation—setting the pace, fine-tuning processing parameters, and passing down your technical trade secrets to a tight-knit team. Backed by a management structure that genuinely respects off-shift staff and accommodates employee well-being, this is a premium professional home to ground your manufacturing career. What You Will Be Doing
Shift Command:
Serving as the hands-on floor supervisor for 3rd shift operations, managing line scheduling, and keeping a small team motivated and safe.
Technical Mold Setups:
Executing end-to-end tooling changeovers, safely hanging molds, setting up water lines, mixing raw materials, and loading resins into drying systems.
Process Troubleshooting:
Diagnosing and correcting molding defects (sinks, splay, short shots, flash) by adjusting pressures, temperatures, and cycle times to lock in optimized processing windows.
Material Infrastructure:
Managing sequential material changes, including meticulously cleaning hoppers, auxiliary loaders, and grinders to prevent cross-contamination.
ISO Quality Control:
Conducting part sampling inspections and executing physical quality checks against drawing specs to ensure 100% compliance with ISO standards.
Workforce Development:
Training operators on standard operating procedures, lean 5S workspace cleanliness, and strict facility safety protocols. What We Are Looking For
Injection Molding Pedigree:
A minimum of 2 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in tool setup and processing logic. You must know how a press breathes, not just how to hit a cycle button.
Mechanical & Polymer Literacy:
Strong foundational mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of different resin characteristics (engineering grade vs. commodity plastics) and custom molding constraints.
Lead-by-Example Mindset:
A reliable, calm supervisor who takes pride in stepping up, diagnosing floor bottlenecks, and maintaining a high-efficiency workflow without direct oversight.
Employment Longevity:
A stable, reliable work history that shows commitment and professional growth rather than frequent job-hopping.
