Production Associate Job Description The Production Associate (entry-level manufacturing) supports the efficient and safe production of wood components by performing a variety of hands-on tasks on the production line. This role follows established work methods, adheres to safety procedures, and contributes to product quality and team productivity in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform a variety of production tasks in the manufacturing of wood components according to standard work methods and instructions. Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages to ensure accurate identification and tracking. Check the quality of products using a tape measure and other measuring tools or equipment to verify specifications. Read and follow paperwork and work orders as assigned by the department supervisor. Notify the supervisor promptly of any mechanical issues, material problems, or abnormalities in the production process. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift. Wear all required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection, at all times in designated areas. Work effectively as part of a team to meet production goals and schedules. Manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks within expected time frames. Learn and perform a variety of job tasks as needed to support production demands. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. Support a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement on the production floor. Essential Skills Ability to read and understand paperwork and work instructions assigned by the department supervisor. Basic measurement skills, including the ability to use a tape measure and other measuring tools or equipment to check product quality. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, quality checks, and adherence to specifications. Teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with coworkers in a production environment. Time management skills to complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Willingness and ability to learn and perform a variety of production tasks. Commitment to wearing all required safety equipment, such as safety glasses and hearing protection. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise. Work Environment This role is based in a fast-paced production facility focused on manufacturing wood components. Standard hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with periodic overtime opportunities depending on production needs. The work environment includes regular exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration, and the noise level can be loud. Employees use measuring tools such as tape measures and work around production machinery, following established safety procedures. Wearing required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection, is essential while on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Crosse, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.75/hr.
