As a Seamstress and Embroidery Operator at Galls you will be hands-on altering our nation's Public Safety professionals' uniforms and equipment. You will ensure all measurements and fittings are done properly, accurately, and efficiently - so that they can wear that uniform proudly and utilize embroidery machine(s) to place logos and personalization on garments, hats, and name-strips. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Read and accurately identify the customer's needs per the Work Instruction Document Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations with ability to problem solve individual sizing issues Operate a heat press safely and efficiently Perform uniform sewing, alternations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency to include taking up stride, lengthening/shortening tails on shirts, tapering shirts, adjusting waists, hemming trousers, mending tears, replacing zippers, applying patches, applying name strips, applying striping, and applying patches Complete adjustments to embroidery set ups. Operate embroidery machines and Perform minor machine repairs if needed. Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines Inspect merchandise against order specifications Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
High school diploma or GED equivalent required Previous experience in Alterations and with embroidering preferred. Well-versed in industrial Sewing machines preferred. Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused - you're not happy with mistakes Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation
