Job Description
Pro-Active Engineering, a leader in Printed Circuit Board assembly, has an opening for a General Production Operator. This position performs tasks involved in general assembly of printed circuit boards. This involves hand insertion of electronic components, trimming wires, clipping leads, programming and testing boards, box build assembly and printed circuit board cleaning. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Essential Functions Follow internal assembly process documentation ensuring product meets internal, customer, and regulatory requirements. Separate printed circuit boards from production panels. Manually insert through-hole components in accordance with IPC Class 2 Standards. Prepare wires and leads through cutting, clipping, and tinning processes. Prep raw components for secondary operations. Hand washing of finished printed circuit board assemblies. Properly label or mark circuit boards. Keep an accurate count of product at your workstation while inspecting every piece for defects. Glue, epoxy, mask and conformal coat circuit boards. Program and functionally test circuit boards. Package and box assemblies as required for shipping. Keep supplies stocked and preparing work area for the next shift. Follow all safety rules, including wearing protective gear when required. Ensure work area is kept clean and free of debris. Ability to clean machines and production areas. Competencies Attention to Detail Technical Capacity Teamwork Orientated Time Management Ability to Work Independently Self Motivated Reliability Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to working near moving mechanical parts and caustic fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Physical Demands Prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Physically able to work with hands, Good dexterity with small parts and repetitive motion. Ability to see color and read small product labels. Ability to bend, kneel, etc. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time. Required Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent (GED). Preferred Education and Experience Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Knowledge of electronic components and equipment. Knowledge of IPC.
