Starting Wage:
$24.70/hr The Temporary Plant Helper assists with general production and plant support activities to ensure safe, efficient, and quality operations. This position performs a variety of manual and equipment‑assisted tasks while following established safety, quality, and environmental procedures. The role works under close supervision and supports production and continuous improvement initiatives. No experience required - will train on the job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with general plant and production support activities Shrink‑wrap pallets as required Place filled bags on pallets, manually and/or using machinery, in the proper configuration Operate a forklift to transport supplies and finished products (as assigned and trained) Maintain a clean, safe, and clutter‑free work area Work under close supervision and follow standard operating procedures, including strict safety and quality requirements Interact and coordinate with production crew members Identify and report safety, quality, environmental, and equipment concerns to supervisors Maintain accurate counts of production output and materials used Support and participate in the organization's Continual Improvement Program and Quality Management System Perform other duties as assigned Education and Training Must be at least 18 years of age due to insurance requirements Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to operate simple and computerized packaging equipment Basic understanding of production processes Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, error‑free work Effective peer‑to‑peer and employee‑to‑supervisor communication skills Ability to work with minimal supervision Dependable, deadline‑oriented, and reliable Flexible and adaptable in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment Physical and Safety Requirements Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions Frequent handling of heavy materials when using manual packaging equipment Intermittent handling of heavy materials when using automated packaging equipment Ability to work on a fast‑moving production line Frequent work outdoors in variable weather conditions Frequent exposure to machinery and mobile equipment Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform physical activities for 8-10 hours per day Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
