Job Description

Our client is a growing chemical manufacturing organization and is seeking a skilled Laboratory Instrumentation Specialist to support Quality Control operations within a GMP-regulated laboratory and manufacturing environment. Located in St. Louis, MO Contract to hire
Pay:
$28-32/hour Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day QC instrumentation activities, including scheduling calibrations, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting support. Ensure QC and manufacturing instruments are qualified, calibrated, and maintained in compliance with SOPs and GMP requirements. Perform calibration and preventive maintenance activities on instruments including pH Meters, Moisture Analyzers, Balances/Scales, Particle Size Analyzers, FTIR, and Magnet Pull Testing equipment Lead and support instrument lifecycle activities including
IQ/OQ/PQ
qualification, requalification, and decommissioning. Coordinate with external vendors for repairs, calibration services, and qualification support. Maintain instrument documentation including calibration records, usage logs, maintenance records, and deviation documentation. Lead or support investigations related to equipment failures, data integrity concerns, and instrument-related OOS results. Support quality systems activities including deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and related documentation. Train and mentor QC analysts on proper instrument operation, troubleshooting, and routine care. Participate in internal audits and regulatory inspections by providing instrumentation-related documentation and support. Collaborate with IT and Validation teams to ensure computerized system validation and data integrity compliance. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to instrumentation, compliance, and workflow efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline. Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, including at least 3 years supporting laboratory instrumentation in a regulated environment. Strong hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as pH Meters, Moisture Analyzers, Balances/Scales, Particle Size Analyzers, FTIR, and Magnet Pull Testing equipment Working knowledge of GMP regulations, 21 CFR Part 11, USP , and data integrity principles. Experience executing instrument qualification protocols including IQ/OQ/PQ and validation activities. Familiarity with quality systems including deviations, CAPAs, investigations, and change controls. "This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
