Job Description The Quality Specialist I will primarily work in the Quality Control Laboratory, supporting the testing and analysis of cGMP produced viral vectors and cells. The role involves collaboration with the QC manager and sr QC staff to guide the strategic direction of the GMP area. Responsibilities + Run sample assays five nights a week. + Operate, calibrate, validate, clean, and maintain QC lab equipment. + Perform QC methods and develop new methods under the guidance of sr staff. + Analyze microbiological environmental monitoring samples. + Write and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). + Maintain and monitor lab equipment. + Manage materials for QC and Production. + Periodically clean the clean room facility and assist with manufacturing viral vector products. + Operate within the Quality Management System for phase-appropriate material manufacture. + Label product samples and document all aspects of sample allocation. + Ensure accountability for product allocation across sample requirements and storage. + Evaluate and improve processes associated with sample management. + Complete, review, file, and archive documentation according to SOPs. + Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements for cellular and gene therapy products. + Work in a diverse and collaborative team environment, utilizing clear communication. Essential Skills + BS degree in Biology or related science field. + 1+ year of prior QA or QC experience. + Experience in a GMP manufacturing setting is highly preferred. + Understanding of regulatory and documentation constraints in a GMP environment. + Strong attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Desire to build a long-term career in Cell/Gene Therapy. Work Environment The role is based in a rapidly growing company with state-of-the-art facilities, currently building two new sites in Columbus, Ohio. The environment includes clean rooms and advanced equipment, with opportunities to work in cross-functional teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
