Job Description

Banister Medical, a machine shop focused on medical devices, is seeking experienced QC inspectors for 1st and 2nd shift to join our skilled, knowledgable, and fun team. We make precision surgical instruments and orthopedic implants out of our single facility in Pflugerville. Our QC team uses state-of-the-art metrology equipment, including CMMs, vision measurement systems, tool scopes, along with a wide variety of precision tools, such as height gages, hardness testers, calipers, gage pins, and others. The parts we make are typically small, and require precision to the 0.00X" or 0.000X". We're looking for qualified candidates with 4+ years experience in a QC inspector role in a precision manufacturing environment (medical, aerospace, or semiconductor). We will consider less experience for applicants with recent coursework in metrology. We have a healthy mix of repeat work and new product launches, so there's good variety in what we do and opportunities to develop different skills. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, a humble mindset, and the ability to work well with others are essential. The position requires a strong working knowledge of GD&T (if you don't know what this is, the role isn't for you) and in-depth understanding of and experience with various inspection methods. We offer competitive pay and strong benefits, including fully paid health insurance, vision, dental, and other insurances, paid vacation, paid holidays, 401K with match, and bonus. Responsibilities
  • Conduct first article inspections, ensuring a stable manufacturing process following a new setup.
  • Conduct final inspection of parts we make to ensure compliance with drawings and other standards and specifications.
  • Operate precision measuring instruments (CMM, height gages, go/no-go, hardness testing, vision systems, optical comparator, etc.).
  • Create and complete inspection reports while checking parts
  • For experienced QC professionals, develop novel inspection plans and program CMM and vision systems.
