Quality Control Specialist Job Description The Quality Control Specialist will perform in-process laboratory quality tests to ensure the accuracy and acceptability of specimens, tests, and test results. They will analyze lab results and release these results, identifying areas for process improvement. Responsibilities + Conduct in-process laboratory quality tests to verify the accuracy of specimens and test results. + Analyze laboratory results and release them after ensuring they meet quality standards. + Identify areas for process improvement within the laboratory setting. + Maintain document control and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). + Manage inventory control and quality assurance processes. Qualifications + Recent Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field is preferred. + Knowledge in science testing and quality processes. + Strong communication skills. + Experience working night shifts. Work Environment This role is based in a laboratory environment where the workstation and desk are located within the lab. The position supports high-throughput testing operations for patient, donor, and biological samples in a state-of-the-art laboratory setting. The standard training schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Once training is complete, the regular work schedule follows a night shift from Friday through Monday, 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The environment requires strict adherence to laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols, with appropriate laboratory attire and protective equipment worn at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
