Job Description

Overview This role reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process and outgoing products to ensure that all quality standards, specifications and customer requirements are met. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented and committed to maintaining accurate documentation while preventing nonconforming parts from reaching customers. The ideal candidate will frequently use independent judgement and discretion to prioritize inspection tasks in order to meet master schedule requirements. This individual should be adaptable and flexible to frequent prioritization changes that exist in a high mix multi-process manufacturing environment. Zigg Design places a high priority on personal responsibility within the workplace including but not limited to individual punctuality and attendance. Duties Operate measuring equipment including CMM and similar automated visual inspection equipment, manual tools such as calipers, micrometers and thread / depth gauges. Inspect incoming, in-process and outgoing materials, components and devices to assure all requirements are met. Monitor, coordinate and inspect materials that require transfer and further processing from outside operations. Perform First Article Inspections, Last Article Inspections and in-process dimensional checks on components produced from metals and high-grade composite materials. Document inspection results and create quality records and associated documentation (both paper-based and electronic). This individual will maintain a highly organized system of completing work requirements and creating associated records and documentation. Initiate and document nonconformances and corrective action plans when deviations are identified. Collaborate with engineering and operations personnel to create, revise and execute customer specific inspection plans. Upon completion of required training, perform process surveillance (internal audits) to monitor and improve compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Minimum Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards and procedures. Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge or strong learning aptitude regarding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods and symbols. Direct experience or strong learning aptitude with computers, electronic data systems (e.g., M1, Unipoint, MS Word, MS Excel) and similar software programs. Experience or strong learning aptitude with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Optical Measurement Systems (e.g., Keyence) and manual measuring tools and equipment. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all Zigg employees. This desired individual is one who is responsible, reliable and dependable with a strong understanding of quality accountability. Ability to lift or move products weighing up to 100 pounds. Ability to stand or remain stationary up to 50% of the time. Desired Qualifications Prior experience performing incoming, in-process and final product inspection activities in a medical device / precision machine shop environment. Prior experience with Medical Device quality system requirements including but not limited to
FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO 9001
is highly desirable. Prior experience with Document Control, Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Calibration requirements, equipment validation requirements, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), process surveillance, equipment and process validation are all highly desirable. Direct experience with GD&T. Highly self-motivated to expand current knowledge and experience. This position will provide personal growth and career path opportunities that are only limited by the individual. This position operates adjacent to Quality Engineering and Quality Management roles within Zigg Design. Interaction with these roles occurs on a daily basis.
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
