Job Description

A marine company located in Mobile; Alabama is seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead and administer its Quality Assurance and Quality Control program across marine fabrication, ship repair, new construction, and installation projects. This position is responsible for ensuring all work complies with contractual requirements, customer specifications, regulatory requirements, approved procedures, and applicable industry standards, including NAVSEA, ABS, USCG, AWS, and ASME . The QA/QC Manager will serve as the primary quality representative and provide leadership, technical oversight, inspection coordination, documentation control, and continuous improvement of the company's quality program. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and enforce NTI's QA/QC Manual across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with contract, regulatory, and customer standards.
  • Maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, and traceability.
  • Oversee welding program per
NAVSEA TP
248, ABS, AWS, and ASME codes.
  • Manage WPS/PQR development and welder qualifications.
  • Conduct inspections, including weld and material verification.
  • Perform and oversee air, hydro, and other required testing.
  • Lead internal/external audits; manage NCRs and corrective actions.
  • Act as primary QA/QC contact for NAVSEA, ABS, USCG, and customers. Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years QA/QC experience in marine, offshore, industrial, shipyard, or fabrication environments.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, ASME, ABS, and NAVSEA welding codes.
  • Experience with
NAVSEA TP 248
welding programs.
  • Understanding of pressure testing, NDT, and fabrication methods.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with government or military marine work.
  • CWI, NACE, or related QA/QC certifications.
  • Background in ship repair, offshore work, or new construction
QA/QC Pay:
$95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
