Job Description About the Company Our client is a well-established heavy civil construction organization with operations across the United States. The company specializes in complex infrastructure and sitework projects, including highways, bridges, DOT work, power plants, dams and reservoirs, and underground utilities. With a strong reputation for technical expertise and dependable project delivery, the organization partners with government agencies, municipalities, and private-sector clients on projects ranging from $1M to $100M+. About the Position We are seeking an Assistant Quality Control Manager to support a major heavy civil construction project in Lukeville, Arizona . Working closely with the Quality Control Manager and project leadership, this individual will help ensure that construction activities, documentation, materials, and field operations meet contract requirements and established quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused construction professional who wants to take on greater responsibility within a large-scale heavy civil environment. Key Responsibilities Support the QC Manager across all aspects of project quality control Review and prepare design, contract, and construction documents Implement QA/QC procedures through submittals, RFIs, inspections, and field testing Review drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for compliance with contract tolerances Monitor subcontractor work and provide field quality oversight Coordinate with project managers, contractors, inspectors, and clients to resolve quality issues Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and electronic field records Assist with Daily Construction Reports, submittals, transmittals, and subcontract/PO documentation Provide guidance to project teams regarding QC procedures and contract requirements Support internal production monitoring, analysis, and reporting Assist with implementation of site safety programs and maintain a strong focus on safety Support quality management activities throughout preconstruction, construction, and closeout Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality systems and processes Requirements 5+ years of construction quality control experience , including 2â3 years in heavy civil construction Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred but not required Experience with heavy civil/sitework projects such as highways, bridges, DOT infrastructure, utilities, dams, or similar work Familiarity with soil and concrete testing and field inspection procedures Strong understanding of construction specifications, tolerances, means and methods, and civil/structural concepts Knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements Experience with audits, compliance, risk assessment, and quality documentation Strong ability to interpret contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and inspectors Ability to balance field and office responsibilities in a demanding heavy civil environment Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols Benefits $110,000â$125,000 base salary Per diem: $100â$200 per week Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with discretionary company match and 100% immediate vesting Company-paid Life and AD&D insurance Voluntary Life and AD&D buy-up options Short- and long-term disability Paid time off Paid holidays Additional company benefits Salary $110K - $125
