We are a fast growing and fast paced manufacturing company. Committed to quality and innovation, we are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our sheet metal manufacturing processes. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead and oversee the quality assurance and control operations in our contract manufacturing environment specializing in sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality management systems to ensure our products consistently meet internal specifications, customer expectations, and applicable regulatory standards, including AS9100 and ITAR compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Systems & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain the facility's Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with AS9100 and other applicable standards. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AWS, ASME, ITAR). Manage ITAR compliance related to quality processes and documentation. Inspection & Testing Supervise and support inspection activities across all stages of manufacturing—raw materials, in-process, and final inspection for sheet metal and CNC components. Ensure all measuring and test equipment is calibrated and maintained. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes (CAPA). Documentation & Reporting Manage quality documentation, inspection records, material traceability, and non-conformance reports (NCRs). Prepare and present quality performance metrics and reports to leadership and customers. Process Improvement Lead continuous improvement initiatives using tools like 5S, Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing principles tailored for contract manufacturing. Conduct internal audits and support external audits and customer visits, specifically for AS9100. Team Leadership & Training Supervise quality inspectors and technicians; provide training and guidance on inspection techniques and quality procedures. Foster a culture of quality and accountability across all levels of production.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of quality management experience in a contract manufacturing environment with a focus on sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining. Strong knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems and ITAR regulations. Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting GD&T for complex machined and fabricated parts. Familiar with tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other precision measurement instruments. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar ASQ certification. Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and quality modules. Familiarity with PPAP, FMEA, SPC, or APQP processes.Work Environment:
Primarily shop-floor and production area presence required. Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs) and standing for extended periods. PPE usage and adherence to all safety protocols is mandatory.Compensation:
