As the business continues to scale, Precision Advanced Manufacturing is focused on expanding its capabilities, strengthening its quality systems, and supporting the next generation of aerospace and defense programs. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Quality Manager who is passionate about building systems, solving problems, and elevating product quality . This role is ideal for a strong executor—someone who can diagnose problems at the bench level and partner with operations to implement real change. The Manager will be responsible for investigating quality issues, drafting responses, and developing corrective actions that prevent recurrence. They will play a key role in differentiating our offering for demanding aerospace and defense clients by establishing robust quality standards tailored to their expectations, not just industry minimums. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary product quality leader , with a focus on real-time problem-solving, defect reduction, and continuous improvement. Draft clear, timely, and professional responses to customer quality concerns, inquiries, and returns. Collaborate with production, planning, and engineering to analyze root causes and implement corrective actions that are practical and effective. Design and build internal quality processes , documentation, and inspection steps to enhance product performance and reduce risk. Drive efforts to differentiate quality expectations and controls between high-reliability (aerospace/defense) vs. consumer/industrial applications. Establish key product quality KPIs (e.g., first-pass yield, defect rates, rework volume) and lead regular quality review meetings. Train and coach production personnel on quality expectations, visual standards, and inspection techniques. Maintain a visible presence on the floor and take initiative in identifying and addressing process risks. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field preferred. 5+ years of quality experience in aerospace and defense or other precision machining industries. Proven ability to build and implement product quality processes that reduce defects and improve outcomes. Skilled in customer communication , including writing formal quality event responses and participating in audits or technical calls. Hands-on experience with root cause analysis (RCA) , CAPA , and shop-floor quality initiatives. Experience supporting or working within AS9100 environments is a strong plus. • Metal Fab / precision machining experience preferred.
