Job Description
Job Summary:
The Quality Manager at Stanford Mu Corporation (SMC) is responsible for all quality related processes and procedures. A successful Quality Manager will effectively manage their QA team and provide an independent perspective during process improvement, corrective action and root cause investigation discussions. This role requires extensive knowledge and application of ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D standards as they apply to the aerospace industry. One critical responsibility is the ability to maintain the ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D accreditation through successfully passing annual third-party audits.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively maintain ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D accreditation of a manufacturing business o Experience preparing for annual certification and surveillance audits o Maintain QA database/records to support third-party audits o Prepare and conduct annual Management Review Meetings o Conduct Internal Audits against SOPs
- Ensure compliance of SMC's Quality Management System (QMS) o Evaluate effectivity of processes and identify improvements o Generate and maintain Quality records
- Be a value-added contributor to product related discussions by acquiring a comprehensive knowledge of: o Company quality policies o Company procedures o Company processes o Company products
- Effectively manage Quality team for timely completion of assigned tasks, including but not limited to: o Performing Receiving Inspection (RI) of purchased items o Performing in-process inspection as defined in MRS/shop traveler o Generate NCRs and drive closure o Generate Quality Reports and Logs, as required
- Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives with an emphasis on product quality and overall customer experience
- Review and approve First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports
- Control Quality Inspection Tools and manage calibration
- Maintain safe work environment by following SMC's standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Experience managing Document Control per aerospace standard practices
Skills and Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship, required by customer flow-down requirements
- Valid California Driver License and reliable transportation
- Full understanding of
AS9100D, ISO 9001
2015, Statutory and Government Regulations for the Aerospace Industry- Work autonomously as well as within the interdepartmental team
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal
- Ability to monitor, analyze and act on data driven metrics to identify trends
- Contribute to cross-functional team discussions on Root Cause Corrective/Preventative Actions to minimize impact to production costs and schedule
- Ability to understand Engineering/Manufacturing processes and procedures
- Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and specifications
- High proficiency applying analytical and logical thought process to Quality related events
- Knowledgeable in methods for complex dimensional inspection consistent with Aerospace standards
- Experience with GD&T
- Ability to close Quality related inquiries from internal and external sources
- Conduct oneself in an honest and transparent manner with the highest ethical and professional standards
- Hands-on approach to problem solving and collaboration within cross-functional teams
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically working with MS Access database
