Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing A leading aerospace precision machining company is hiring a Quality Control Lead to oversee inspection operations and ensure compliance with strict aerospace standards. This is a hands-on leadership role within a high-performance machine shop environment. Must-Have Qualifications 6+ years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum 2 years in a lead or supervisory role Strong expertise in blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) Working knowledge of AS9100D Quality Management System Experience preparing and reviewing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) Hands-on experience with
CMM, FARO
Arm, and metrology software (PC-DMIS or Verisurf) Experience with root cause analysis and CAPA implementation Familiarity with aerospace standards ( BAC, BMS, BDS, MIL specs ) High School Diploma or GED required
Preferred:
Experience with ERP systems such as JobBOSS Familiarity with CAD software (CATIA V5) Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Position Overview The Quality Control Lead is a "working lead" responsible for managing the inspection department while actively performing complex inspections. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with Tier-1 aerospace OEM requirements and driving continuous quality improvement. Key Responsibilities Department Leadership Supervise inspection personnel and manage daily workflow and schedules Track and report quality metrics and performance data to leadership Hands-On Inspection Conduct First Article (FAIR), in-process, and final inspections on precision-machined components Compliance & Audits Review and validate AS9102 documentation Support internal and external audit activities Quality Systems Oversight Develop, monitor, and improve KPIs for the quality control process Continuous Improvement Investigate non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented quality professional to step into a leadership role while remaining technically engaged in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
