Job Description

This position is responsible for the day-to-day quality operations of all manufactured paint products, including over-seeing the inspection and testing of products to meet quality standards and customer requirements. This is a working supervisor position and at times requires to work on the bench, alongside their team members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, implements and monitors all aspects of the Quality Control Lab Oversees lab and QC technicians to ensure they are following proper procedures and processes. Reads/understands batch ticket instructions regarding substrates, including ASTM testing methods Maintains accurate and detailed records of all testing and inspections. Investigates all quality related customer complaints (CAR) and performs root cause analysis when required. Maintains retain samples and log Maintain lab equipment and calibration Make sure lab is clean and runs efficiently Communicates with plant manager efficiently, and sales and field tech reps as needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor degree in engineering, chemistry or relevant field and/or 5+ years' experience in a paint quality control Lab. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft office Color computer knowledge: Byk, Hunter and Datacolor instruments/software Knowledge of paint testing equipment: Zahn cups, gloss meters, Tooke gage, density cup, etc.… Additional skills and competencies : Interpersonal and leadership skills Oral communication and organizational skills Self-motivated and efficient problem solver Familiar with
ISO 9001
