Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Quality Control (QC) Manager to join our dynamic team. The QC Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet or exceed quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in quality management and inspection processes, with a proven track record of success in USACE (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) projects. Key Responsibilities Quality Management Develop and oversee the implementation of the Quality Control (QC) system to ensure compliance with contract documents, codes, and specifications. Supervise all special inspections as required by the contract documents and the International Building Code (IBC). Verify the qualifications of special inspectors, fabricators, and non-destructive testing (NDT) personnel. Maintain and regularly update rework items lists, addressing discrepancies in a timely manner. Documentation & Reporting Maintain organized QC documentation, including a 3-ring binder for special inspectors' daily and biweekly reports, accessible in the project trailer or office for review. Review and manage NDT procedures, equipment calibration records, and daily/biweekly inspection reports. Prepare and submit comprehensive final reports documenting completed inspections and corrections of all discrepancies. Coordination & Communication Act as the primary liaison between contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and the Contracting Officer. Attend preparatory phase meetings related to Definable Features of Work (DFOW). Ensure open communication regarding discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to quality standards. Qualifications Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a QC Manager in USACE projects. Completion of the Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors course. Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of construction management processes, materials, and quality compliance requirements. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and codes. Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency in quality assurance tools and software is a plus. Certifications Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) practices is advantageous.
