Teaching Full Job Description Overview:
The Quality Manager will lead the Quality department in our manufacturing facility. This position will develop the team to ensure compliance with company, customer, industry, and regulatory standards and requirements. The Quality Manager will lead the implementation of quality management systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction. This role is heavily based in root cause analysis and cross-departmental auditing. You will be building a quality department from the ground up.
Role:
Lead and manage the Quality Engineering and Quality Inspection teams - coaching, mentoring, and managing the performance of the team to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives. Develop Taurus' quality management systems (QMS). Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to certifications and other quality standards. Analyze quality data and implement corrective actions to address non-conformances. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues. Interface with internal and external suppliers to ensure needs are met, and expectations are satisfied. Develop and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans. Train and mentor quality team members on best practices and quality standards. Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities. Monitor and report on key quality metrics and performance indicators. Support new product development and introduction processes. Manage the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment. Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization. Demonstrated ability and willingness to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field or a minimum of 5+ years of experience in quality management within the manufacturing industry. Proven experience leading teams through business changes. Coaching, mentoring, and motivating teams to persevere through adversity. Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and industry standards Internal auditor training and certification is a plus. Demonstrated history of ownership, accountability, and team building. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean). Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes, and the ability to teach these tools to direct and indirect reports.
