This role combines the responsibilities of monitoring the quality of incoming raw materials (ingredients and packaging) and managing quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with both internal and external quality standards. Essential Functions The following reflects the essential functions of the role but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Duties may be modified or reassigned as necessary. Raw Material Responsibilities Perform raw material inspections, ensuring that they meet company standards and regulatory requirements. Manage all raw material internal and external testing. Work closely with suppliers to resolve any material discrepancies, quality issues, or non-conformances and maintain supporting documentation. Maintain raw material inspection records and documentation, ensuring traceability and compliance with internal standards. Review and verify Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and other documentation accompanying raw materials. Report any deviations or quality failures to the purchasing and production teams and suggest corrective actions. Maintain the raw material and finished goods retention room and tracking logs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of raw material inspections, test results, and supplier communications. Manage internal raw material specifications and the change management program. Maintain raw material and finished goods hold/release program. Quality Assurance Support Back up to Quality Assurance Technician. Support QA Manager with SQF certification and audits. Participate in risk assessments to evaluate the potential impact of raw material quality on the finished product. Identify potential risks in the raw material supply chain and implement mitigation strategies. Skills & Qualifications Strong multitasking and organizational skills with attention to detail. Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance. Knowledge of laboratory testing techniques and material specifications. Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity. Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively across departments. Strong follow-through and proactive problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure or in fast-paced environments. Results-oriented, dependable, and team-focused mindset. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently and professionally. Physical Demands Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Ability to push/pull objects over 25 lbs. occasionally. Frequent standing, sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, and walking. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and computer systems. Ability to hear and communicate clearly with customers and team members. Visual acuity for close, distance, and color vision with ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Combination of a professional office environment, manufacturing facility, and warehouse with forklifts and pallet jacks moving about. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree preferred or two years of related experience in a food manufacturing environment required. Works Closely With Customer Service Manager, Production Manager, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, and the entire office staff. Directly Supervises This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
