Aggregate Quality Control Manager Location:

About the Role This is a highly visible leadership role overseeing quality operations across multiple pit locations within the Aggregates Division. Reporting to the Division Manager, the Quality Control Manager will be responsible for quality systems, testing compliance, and team development, and will partner closely with operations to ensure consistent production of specification-grade materials. The role carries real authority. The Quality Control Manager will have the mandate to direct production adjustments, and to stop production where needed, to keep material in specification. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational performance across an entire division, work closely with senior leadership, and build best-in-class quality processes. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage quality control programs across multiple aggregate operations, setting daily testing schedules for pit run and finished products Ensure all testing meets state DOT, ASTM, AASHTO, municipal, and commercial requirements, alongside MSHA and environmental standards Direct immediate corrective action on out-of-spec material and give real-time guidance to production teams Partner with operations on blast design, crusher settings, and screen configurations to optimize material consistency Provide quality insight into reserve evaluation and mine planning Oversee laboratory operations, equipment calibration, third-party testing, and certification of customer shipments Lead the use of QC technology, including load-out systems and live quality dashboards Recruit, train, and develop quality technicians and support staff, and build training for production teams Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reporting and communicate trends to senior leadership Support the Ready Mix and Asphalt divisions, customer visits, agency audits, submittals, and mix approvals Drive continuous improvement and ISO-aligned quality systems Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mining engineering, geology, materials science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered 5+ years of quality control experience in aggregates, construction materials, or mining Strong working knowledge of aggregate testing standards and specification compliance Understanding of crushing, screening, and washing operations, and how geology affects aggregate performance Experience with statistical process control and quality data systems Proven experience leading and developing technical teams Relevant certifications (such as ACI, NICET, state DOT technician certifications, MSHA Part 46/48, or Six Sigma) preferred Ability to travel between pit locations and work outdoors in all weather conditions Why This Role Leadership position with direct influence across a full aggregates division Authority to set and enforce quality standards Close collaboration with senior leadership Opportunity to shape and build quality processes in a long-established, vertically integrated organization Relocation assistance and a company vehicle provided Even if this particular role isn't the right fit, connecting now would allow me to keep you informed of future opportunities within aggregates, mining, and construction materials that may align with your experience and long-term aspirations. #Hiring #Aggregates #QualityControl #ConstructionMaterials #Mining #Colorado
