This role oversees the quality team, manages daily QA operations, and collaborates closely with production, engineering, and suppliers to meet stringent aerospace and machining requirements. Responsibilities Manage the quality team and oversee daily quality assurance operations in a precision manufacturing environment. Maintain and improve AS9100 and
ISO 9001
quality management system compliance, including procedures, documentation, and records. Lead internal and external audits, inspections, and first article inspections to verify compliance with aerospace and customer requirements. Drive corrective and preventive actions by performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable solutions. Review and interpret blueprints, aerospace drawings, and customer specifications, including GD&T and SPC requirements. Establish and monitor inspection methods, measurement techniques, and quality checkpoints using precision measuring tools. Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure process capability. Support supplier quality activities, including evaluation of supplier performance and coordination of corrective actions. Use statistical process control (SPC) to monitor process performance and support continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure product quality meets customer expectations and support on-time delivery by proactively addressing quality risks. Communicate quality performance, issues, and improvement actions across departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement within the quality team and across the organization. Essential Skills Proven experience in quality management within an aerospace, precision machining, or machine shop environment. Hands-on experience managing a quality team and daily QA operations in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of AS9100 and
ISO 9001
quality management systems, including compliance, audits, and documentation requirements. Demonstrated ability to lead corrective actions, audits, inspections, and first article inspections. Advanced blueprint reading skills with a strong understanding of GD&T and aerospace drawings/specifications. Proficiency with statistical process control (SPC) and using data to monitor and improve process performance. Experience with root cause analysis methodologies and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions. Strong inspection skills and familiarity with precision measuring tools and inspection methods. Ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues. Effective leadership, communication, and cross-department collaboration skills to drive quality initiatives. Additional Skills & Qualifications aerospace manufacturing or precision machining environments. Experience with supplier quality management and evaluating supplier performance. Knowledge of machine shop operations and processes relevant to precision manufacturing. Experience conducting first article inspections in accordance with aerospace or customer requirements. Comfort using quality tools and techniques to support continuous improvement initiatives. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Coral Springs, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
