Job Description

Position Summary The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and control processes within the manual stone veneer production line. This role ensures that all products meet company standards for appearance, strength, and consistency before reaching customers. The supervisor will lead quality inspections, enforce standards on the production floor, and work closely with the Production Manager to drive continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong attention to detail, team oversight, and the ability to maintain quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Quality Oversight & Inspection Supervise daily quality control operations across all stages of production Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished stone veneer for defects, consistency, and adherence to specifications Ensure color, texture, and structural integrity meet company standards Approve or reject materials based on quality benchmarks Team Leadership Lead and train Quality Control team members and production staff on quality standards and expectations Provide real-time feedback and corrective guidance on the production floor Foster a culture of accountability and quality ownership across all teams Process Enforcement Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and checklists Ensure all quality protocols are consistently followed during production Partner with the Production Manager to enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) Defect Prevention & Root Cause Analysis Identify recurring defects or inconsistencies in production Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions Collaborate with production to reduce waste, rework, and inefficiencies Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of inspections, defects, and corrective actions Track key quality metrics and provide regular reports to leadership Assist in developing KPIs related to product quality and production performance Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Production, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure material and process quality Support production scheduling by ensuring quality readiness and minimizing delays due to defects Communicate quality issues proactively to leadership Safety & Compliance Ensure all quality processes align with workplace safety standards Participate in safety audits and promote safe handling of materials and equipment Qualifications Experience 2-4 years of experience in quality control or supervisory role in manufacturing, construction materials, or concrete products preferred Experience in manual production environments is highly desirable Skills Strong attention to detail and visual inspection ability Knowledge of quality control processes and inspection techniques Leadership and team development skills Problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Strong communication and organizational skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Education High school diploma or GED required Associate degree or certification in quality management, manufacturing, or related field preferred Working Conditions Active role requiring standing, walking, and hands-on inspection throughout the production floor Exposure to manufacturing environments, including dust, materials, and varying temperatures Flexible schedule, including early mornings and occasional extended hours What Success Looks Like Consistent reduction in product defects and rework High compliance with quality standards across all production lines Improved efficiency through proactive quality management Strong collaboration between quality and production teams
