This position reviews project specifications and recommends appropriate mix designs for bidding and production, develops and submits mix designs, and optimizes concrete performance through testing, analysis, and troubleshooting. The QC Director also supervises Quality Control Technicians and ensures compliance with applicable industry standards and certifications. Education & Experience Degree in Construction Management, Concrete Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred; or Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the concrete or construction industry. Key Responsibilities Participate in pre-bid and pre-construction project planning. Review project specifications and recommend concrete mix designs for estimating and production. Develop, submit, and maintain concrete mix designs in accordance with project requirements. Monitor and optimize concrete mix performance through laboratory and field evaluations. Supervise and direct QC Technicians, including daily duties, training, and performance oversight. Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and inventory control. Coordinate with Customer Service and Dispatch departments to ensure efficient customer support and product delivery. Conduct aggregate and concrete testing in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, and other applicable standards. Assist with trial batches, including material preparation, batching, and testing procedures. Maintain accurate records and data entry for mix designs, compressive strength results, gradations, and related testing. Analyze reports and testing data to improve product quality and performance. Investigate customer complaints, jobsite issues, and product performance concerns, and provide effective solutions. Maintain, calibrate, and verify laboratory and field-testing equipment. Ensure compliance with all quality control procedures, safety standards, and certification requirements. Qualifications & Requirements Strong knowledge of concrete and aggregate testing procedures and applicable ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI standards. ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I certification required; Level II certification preferred. DOT Certification required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Must maintain current laboratory certifications and obtain all required ACI, OSHA, and MSHA certifications. Equal Employment Opportunity Drug free workplace
