Traveling Federal QCM Tallahassee, FL Full-TimeOn-Site$130,000 - $150,000 /yr Posted May 19, 2026 Traveling Federal QCM Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Traveling Federal Quality Control Manager (QCM) to lead quality assurance and quality control activities on federal construction projects nationwide. The QCM will implement and enforce project-specific quality control programs, ensure compliance with contract documents and applicable federal regulations, coordinate with federal agency representatives (USACE, DoD, NASA), and travel frequently to multiple job sites to perform inspections, testing oversight, and documentation. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and maintain project Quality Control (QC) plans and procedures to meet contract requirements and federal standards. Perform regular site inspections, surveillance, and testing oversight to verify workmanship, materials, and processes meet specified quality standards. Identify, document and track nonconformances; lead corrective action efforts and verify completion of repairs or rework. Coordinate directly with contractors, subcontractors, and federal agency representatives (USACE, DoD, NASA) to resolve quality issues and ensure timely communication and compliance. Prepare clear, concise daily and weekly QC reports, inspection logs, test records, and final acceptance documentation. Manage and mentor on-site QC personnel; provide training and guidance on inspection techniques, documentation, and quality expectations. Conduct pre-construction and pre-installation quality reviews and provide technical input during construction planning to prevent defects. Participate in subcontractor pre-qualifications and monitor supplier quality performance. Support audits, third-party inspections, and federal agency spot checks; ensure corrective actions are implemented. Maintain organized and auditable quality records and ensure timely submission of project documentation. Qualifications Demonstrated experience as a Quality Control Manager (QCM) on construction projects QCM skill is required. Proven experience working on federal construction contracts or projects; familiarity with federal procurement and compliance requirements. Knowledge of Quality and Quality Control principles, inspection/testing methods, and construction materials and processes. Familiarity with USACE specifications and procedures; experience with DoD and NASA projects is strongly preferred. Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 510 years of progressive construction quality control experience, including hands-on field inspection and supervisory responsibilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce concise reports and present findings to federal stakeholders. Ability and willingness to travel frequently and stay at remote project sites for extended periods. Proficiency with inspection/documentation tools, digital reporting systems, and basic office software. Certifications preferred: QCM certification, OSHA 30-hour, ACI field certifications, NDT certifications, or other relevant industry credentials. Ability to obtain and maintain required federal security clearances is a plus.
