Job Description

Position Title Quality Control Lead Department Quality Assurance / Quality Control Reports To Quality Manager Position Summary The Quality Control Lead is responsible for overseeing daily quality inspection activities within the manufacturing facility to ensure products meet company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role provides continuous improvement initiatives, investigates quality issues, and supports production teams in maintaining a culture of quality and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Control Lead and coordinate daily quality control activities across manufacturing operations. Monitor product quality throughout the production process to ensure compliance with established standards and specifications. Review and approve inspection reports and quality documentation. Conduct audits of production processes, incoming materials, and finished products. Ensure compliance with applicable industry regulations, safety standards, and customer requirements. Team Leadership Supervise, train, and mentor quality inspectors and technicians. Assign daily inspection tasks and monitor team performance. Provide coaching and corrective guidance when quality standards are not met. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Assist in investigating quality defects, customer complaints, and non-conformance issues. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Collaborate with production and shipping and receiving to resolve quality concerns. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate quality records and inspection data. Prepare quality reports, metrics, and trend analyses for management review. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates, first-pass yield, and customer returns. Ensure proper document control and compliance with quality management systems. Process Improvement Participate in process validation and improvement projects. Assist in developing and updating quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; experience in a related field preferred. 3-5+ years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment. 1-3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of quality systems, inspection methods, and manufacturing processes. Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes. Proficiency with the metric system and metric tools (digital calipers, measuring tape, micrometers etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel). Preferred Qualifications Certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT), Certified Quality Inspector (CQI). Experience with CGMP, FM, UL or other applicable quality standards. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds, as required. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Work Schedule Full-time position Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Success Metrics Reduction in defect and scrap rates. Improved first-pass yield and product quality metrics. Timely completion of inspections and audits. Successful implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Achievement of customer quality and compliance requirements.
Salary Range:
$60,000-$65,000 annually depending on experience.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
