Responsibilities Lead and supervise the quality assurance team to ensure adherence to all quality standards and regulatory requirements and other applicable legal standards. Conduct comprehensive quality audits across production lines to identify areas for improvement and verify compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Oversee quality inspections and control processes to ensure products meet specified criteria. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues swiftly and effectively. Analyze data from quality control activities to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process optimization. Facilitate training sessions on quality standards and regulatory compliance to elevate team expertise. Requirements Proven experience practicing in a food processing environment role with a focus on quality assurance or control. Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, and regulatory/legal compliance standards relevant to food processing environments. Demonstrated expertise in conducting quality audits, inspections, and implementing quality systems such as QA/QC protocols. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and implement corrective actions effectively. Effective team leadership skills combined with cross-functional communication capabilities to foster collaboration across departments. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or related science discipline. Minimum 2 years of work experience in food safety and quality assurance. Supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge of FSMA, food safety policies and regulations (federal, state and local) preferred. Knowledge of food manufacturing and/or food storage and distribution processes. Knowledge in sensory and quality evaluations, shelf-life testing, and research and development of products. Experience with GMP and GFSI audits preferred. Ability to interpret microbiological test results and make recommendations or decisions.
