accredited Certification Experience with regulatory requirements/ inspections (CAP,AABB), 5+ years of lab experience (preferred)

The Laboratory Department provides a wide variety of assays and procedures to obtain data used in the diagnosis and treatment of most disease states to our inpatient and out patients. Services include phlebotomy, hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, point-of-care and pathology. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Tracks and promotes quality of patient care as well as patient and visitor safety, in collaboration with quality and performance improvement activities. Minimize the frequency and severity of adverse events, manage and investigate the causes of those events to prevent injury and financial loss, and to advance awareness in order to identify risk related issues and trends. Quality management includes incident reporting, management of patient and family complaints related to quality of care, educational activities, and compliance with accreditation requirements. Proactive as well as reactive by providing support and regulatory guidance for risk reduction and process improvement by using activities such as root cause analysis and cause mapping in order to create and monitor action plans identified. Responsibilities Maintains continuous mandatory regulatory readiness for accrediting agencies. Coordinates and manages external regulatory inspections for all appropriate accrediting bodies. Performs validation and verification audits required by all regulatory bodies, including but not limited to, good clinical practices, competency assessment and documentation, Investigates and evaluates events for risk potential, loss minimization, and proper documentation in addition to using risk factor data to develop interventions and process improvement strategies. Participates in the development and implementation of the Quality Management Plan in accordance to the requirements of all regulatory bodies. Provides consultation and support to clinical teams related to performance and quality improvement initiatives and metric development and management.
