Job Description:
Our client is currently seeking a
DIRECTOR OF QUALITY ASSURANCE AND FOOD SAFETY
in IL. We are seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to oversee all Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs for the organization. The Director serves as the primary decision-maker on all quality and food safety matters and leads responses to any related incidents. Key Responsibilities Quality & Food Safety Leadership Establish strategic direction and execution plans for all quality and food safety initiatives across operations. Develop, maintain, and enforce robust quality policies, procedures, and programs. Act as the final authority for product disposition decisions and lead investigations during quality or food safety events. Build and promote a strong culture of proactive food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance leadership within food manufacturing. Ready to Eat Protein experience in a must. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and quality management systems. HACCP certification required;
SQF/PCQI
certifications preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated production environment.
