Hours:
7:00am-4:00pm We are seeking a hands-on QC Manager/Inspector to oversee quality operations in a small, growing manufacturing environment in Spring Grove, IL. A background in plastics manufacturing is preferred. This is not a traditional office-based quality position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on the manufacturing floor, interacting with employees, verifying processes, inspecting products, and ensuring work is being completed correctly. This is a direct hire opportunity on 1st shift. Quality Manager Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee day-to-day quality activities on the manufacturing floor
- Verify products are manufactured using the correct materials and to print specifications
- Perform inspections and ensure quality requirements are consistently met
- Maintain quality records and documentation
- Support and maintain compliance with
ISO 9000
quality systems
- Identify quality issues and work with production to determine solutions
- Oversee and support a quality team of 2+ employees
- Communicate quality concerns and updates to management
- Work closely with production employees to ensure procedures are understood and followed
- Monitor processes and verify that required documentation and records are completed accurately
- Promote attention to detail and continuous improvement throughout the shop
Quality Manager Requirements:
- Previous quality inspection or quality management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Plastics manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong understanding of
ISO 9000
quality systems
- Experience with quality documentation and record compliance
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn company systems
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Comfortable spending significant time on the manufacturing floor rather than sitting behind a desk
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred
