Job Description

A growing food manufacturing organization in the Evansville area is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance programs. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for maintaining USDA compliance , driving continuous improvement initiatives, and building a strong food safety culture throughout the facility.
What You'll Do:
Lead all quality assurance and food safety programs for the facility. Serve as the primary quality contact for USDA inspections and regulatory compliance activities . Manage HACCP, GMP, SSOP, food defense, environmental monitoring, and sanitation verification programs. Lead internal audits, customer audits, and third-party audit preparation and execution. Drive corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Partner closely with Operations, Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Leadership teams. Develop, mentor, and lead quality team members while promoting accountability and engagement. Monitor and analyze quality metrics, customer complaints, non-conformances, and food safety trends. Ensure all quality systems, records, and documentation remain audit-ready and compliant.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive quality leadership experience within food manufacturing. Strong USDA knowledge and current experience working directly with USDA inspectors is required. Hands-on experience managing HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and food safety programs. Proven leadership experience managing quality teams. Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, audit management, and quality systems. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills. Experience in meat, poultry, or other USDA-regulated manufacturing environments highly preferred. Why Consider This Opportunity?
