Full Job Description Description:
Kadon - CNC Industries - is seeking an experienced, hands-on Quality Manager to lead our Quality Department and ensure the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for managing a team of Quality employees while maintaining ITAR registration and processes and in compliance with AS9100 and ISO quality management systems. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who enjoys being on the production floor, coaching employees, solving problems, driving continuous improvement, and partnering with Operations to deliver exceptional products to our customers. Essential Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality department. Establish daily priorities and ensure quality inspections are completed accurately and on schedule. Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and ISO requirements. Plan, coordinate, and lead internal, customer, and third-party quality audits. Serve as the primary point of contact during certification and surveillance audits. Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection standards. Review customer specifications and ensure compliance throughout the manufacturing process. Manage customer and supplier corrective actions (CARs/SCARs), root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using data to reduce defects, scrap, and rework. Oversee First Article Inspections (FAIs) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation. Ensure calibration systems are maintained and compliant. Analyze quality metrics and report trends, KPIs, and improvement opportunities to leadership. Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to resolve quality concerns quickly and effectively. Participate in customer meetings regarding quality performance and continuous improvement initiatives. Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and teamwork throughout the organization.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of quality leadership experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment. Experience supervising quality inspectors and manufacturing support personnel. Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO quality management systems. Experience leading internal, customer, and registrar audits. Thorough understanding of PPAP, First Article Inspection (FAI), control plans, process flow diagrams, and PFMEA. Experience with corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T. Experience using precision inspection equipment including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other measuring instruments. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems. Preferred Qualifications ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE), or similar certification. Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience. Experience working with aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
