This role will initially be heavily involved in inspection and product verification, with the goal of building and leading a quality team over time. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both on the shop floor and at the system level. Pay:
$65,000 to $90,000 ( highest value candidates with have CQE certification or Engineering Degree and strong ISO experience) General Devices offers tuition, training and certification reimbursement and coverage Key Responsibilities Inspection & Product Quality (Immediate Focus) Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet specifications Must have GD&T experience Read and interpret prints, tolerances, and customer requirements and be able to measure and document measurements Approve conforming product and manage nonconforming material Support production teams in resolving quality issues in real time Submission and generation of FAIs and PPAPs (Both basic/internal and customer specific) Quality System & ISO Ownership Maintain and improve the company's
ISO 9001
Quality Management System Support and lead external audits and serve as a key contact for auditors Advise and schedule internal auditors and maintain compliance documentation Manage corrective actions, nonconformance reports, and document control Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce defects Track and report key quality metrics Supplier & Customer Quality Support supplier quality requirements and incoming inspection processes Address customer quality concerns and ensure timely resolution Team Development (Future Growth) Assist in hiring and developing a Quality Technician/Inspector Build structure and processes to scale the quality function over time
Qualifications Required:
5+ years in manufacturing quality (hands-on experience required) GD&T experience Strong inspection skills (calipers, micrometers, prints, tolerances) Experience with
ISO 9001
systems and audits Understanding of metal fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding, powder coat) Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
Leadership or supervisory experience Experience building or improving quality systems ASQ certification (CQE, CQM, etc.) Engineering degree or equivalent experience
