A Quality Assurance Manager focuses on prevention of mistakes and defects in manufacturing products. Develops procedures to ensure that quality standards are maintained. Manages all steps related to quality assurance as part of the quality management strategy of a company. May involve leadership of a team of quality assurance supervisors, specialists, and other associated staff members.
President Gregory Construction is seeking a QA/QC Leader to develop, implement, and lead a company-wide Quality Management System (QMS) across heavy civil operations. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving quality standards across all projects—from preconstruction through closeout. The QA/QC Leader will work closely with Operations, Safety, Survey, and project teams to ensure consistent execution, reduce rework, and strengthen overall project performance. This position requires regular travel to active job sites and a strong field presence. Key Responsibilities Quality System Leadership Develop and manage the company-wide QMS Standardize inspection processes, documentation, and quality controls Implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and hold points Establish and maintain document control for submittals, RFIs, and material tracking Project Quality Oversight Support preconstruction planning and identify high-risk scopes Ensure project teams understand and execute contract quality requirements Conduct jobsite audits to verify compliance with plans, specs, and DOT standards Assist with resolution of nonconforming work Testing & Compliance Oversee third-party testing and internal quality processes Ensure proper testing frequency, documentation, and material compliance Monitor testing results and implement corrective actions as needed Audits & Continuous Improvement Perform internal audits and track quality performance metrics Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective action plans Report quality trends and performance to executive leadership Training & Field Integration Train field teams on quality standards and processes Promote a consistent, proactive quality culture across all projects Qualifications Required 7-10+ years of heavy civil construction experience Strong knowledge of DOT specifications and contract requirements Experience managing or supporting quality control on civil projects (earthwork, utilities, paving, structures) Ability to read and interpret construction documents and submittals Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Willingness to travel regularly and maintain a strong field presence Preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field Experience as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or QC Manager Experience building or leading a Quality Management System Certifications such as CQM, ACI, NICET, or DOT-related credentials Familiarity with digital quality tracking systems What to Expect Regular travel to active job sites across multiple regions Direct interaction with field teams and project leadership Responsibility for driving quality standards across the organization Opportunity to build and scale company-wide systems Why Gregory Construction Gregory Construction is a self-performing contractor focused on delivering high-quality civil and infrastructure projects.
