Job Description
This position will be based at our Hampton Farms location in Springfield, MA. Job Summary The Quality Assurance Supervisor leads Quality Assurance and Sanitation operations to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, regulatory, and certification requirements. As the site's SQF Practitioner, this role is responsible for maintaining the SQF system, supporting USDA Organic and RSPO certifications, and fostering a strong food safety culture. The position partners closely with Operations, Production, and Maintenance to ensure food safety, sanitation, allergen control, and quality standards are effectively integrated into daily manufacturing activities. This position directly reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Food Safety, Regulatory & Certification Compliance- Food Safety, Compliance & Quality Systems
- Serve as the designated SQF Practitioner and maintain the SQF system.
- Lead SQF, regulatory, customer, Organic, and RSPO audits and manage CAPAs
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, customer requirements, USDA Organic standards, and RSPO certification programs.
- Lead the HACCP team and maintain food safety plans, preventive controls, CCPs, and prerequisite programs.
- Ensure traceability, documentation, mock recall readiness, and audit preparedness.
- Investigate non-conformances, deviations, and customer complaints; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Supervise QA Technicians and Sanitation personnel, including staffing, scheduling, training and performance management.
- Ensure effective QA coverage for GMP compliance, food safety requirements, foreign material controls, and product quality oversight.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to drive consistent program execution.
- Manage sanitation programs, including SSOPs, cleaning schedules, chemical controls, pre-operational inspections, allergen changeovers, environmental monitoring, and sanitation recordkeeping.
- Partner with Operations Team to integrate FSQ requirements into daily operations.
- Establish track and report food safety and quality KPIs.
- Drive improvements in GMP compliance, sanitation effectiveness, and overall quality performance.
- Promote a collaborative, risk-based approach that balances food safety, quality, and operational efficiency while strengthening the site's food safety culture.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- HACCP Certification
SQF/ GFSI
Practitioner certification- PCQI certification
- Minimum 3 years of food manufacturing experience, preferably in snack foods or allergen-controlled environments.
- Strong knowledge of
SQF/GFSI
standards, HACCP, Preventive Controls, USDA Organic requirements, and allergen management.- Experience with environmental monitoring, sanitation programs, SOP development, document control, traceability, and audit management.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, and change management abilities.
- Sound risk-based decision-making and continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to effectively engage with customers, auditors, suppliers, regulators, and internal stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications
- Food Safety or Quality Internal/Lead Auditor certification.
- Sanitation program management experience.
- Experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.
- Proven knowledge of NetSuite, SharePoint, traceability, and mock recall systems programs.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on the production floor during routine operations, inspections, and audits.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing administrative tasks.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to work safely in a food manufacturing environment.
