Job Description
Job Summary C.P. Food Products, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and supplier-quality activities. This position serves as the company's technical quality and compliance expert. The QA Manager will review product packaging and labeling, assess supplier and third-party audit reports, identify potential risks, and recommend practical solutions to protect food safety, regulatory compliance, customer requirements, and business continuity. The ideal candidate has experience in the food industry, particularly seafood, frozen food, imported food, or food distribution, and can work effectively with international suppliers and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance activities. Ensure products and supporting documentation comply with FDA, FSMA, HACCP, HARPC, customer, and company requirements. Monitor regulatory developments and communicate relevant requirements and risks to management. Review third-party audit reports, factory audits, supplier audits, and social compliance audits. Identify and evaluate food safety, quality, operational, and compliance risks. Recommend practical risk-mitigation measures and corrective action plans. Lead investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective and preventive actions for quality and compliance issues. Follow up with suppliers and internal teams to verify that corrective actions are completed and effective. Review and approve packaging, labels, artwork, and product specifications. Verify ingredient statements, allergen declarations, Nutrition Facts, net weight, country-of-origin claims, and customer-specific requirements. Review supplier certifications, specifications, quality records, and compliance documentation. Monitor supplier performance and provide technical guidance on food safety, product quality, packaging, and regulatory issues. Support customer audits, certification audits, regulatory inspections, and product-recall activities. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related technical field. At least five years of progressive experience in food Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance, or Supplier Quality. Experience reviewing food packaging, labels, artwork, specifications, and supplier documentation. Experience reviewing third-party, supplier-factory, or social-compliance audit reports. Experience managing corrective action plans and verifying their effectiveness. Working knowledge of FDA regulations, FSMA, HACCP, HARPC, and food-safety management systems. Seafood, frozen food, imported food, or food-distribution experience is strongly preferred. Experience working with international suppliers is preferred. PCQI, HACCP, SQF, BRCGS, or another relevant certification is preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must be able to work on-site in Columbia, Maryland. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines. Effective written and verbal English communication. Strong cross-functional and supplier-management skills
