Job Title:
Quality Control Manager Job Description This role oversees quality control for a full interior renovation project at a naval air station, including mechanical and low-voltage upgrades, drywall, framing, and carpet installation for an office building. The Quality Control Manager leads the day-to-day operational aspects of the project, ensures adherence to scope and quality standards, and represents the project's progress in meetings. Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operational aspects of the construction project at the naval air station. Review the project scope of work and ensure all activities align with contractual and design requirements. Develop, implement, and uphold quality control standards throughout all phases of construction. Monitor work performed by project teams and subcontractors to verify compliance with federal construction standards and project specifications. Inspect mechanical and low-voltage installations to confirm they meet quality and safety requirements. Oversee drywall, framing, and carpet installation to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to project plans. Identify quality issues or nonconformances and coordinate corrective actions in a timely manner. Document quality control activities, inspections, and test results in accordance with project and federal requirements. Participate in project meetings and clearly communicate progress, quality status, and any issues or risks. Collaborate with project stakeholders to maintain schedule, quality, and safety expectations. Support continuous improvement of quality processes across the project. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA safety standards and applicable regulations. Essential Skills Quality control management experience in construction, with 5-8 years of previous federal construction experience. Strong understanding of federal construction standards and processes, particularly for renovation projects. Ability to review and interpret scopes of work, drawings, and specifications. Proven experience overseeing quality for mechanical, low-voltage, drywall, framing, and interior finish work. QCM (Army Corps of Engineers Quality Control Manager) certification. OSHA 30 certification. Familiarity with USACE (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) quality control requirements. Ability to uphold and enforce quality standards across all project activities. Strong communication skills to present progress and quality updates in meetings. Eligibility to work on a federal installation, including U.S. citizenship as required for base access. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on construction projects located on military or other secure federal installations. Experience in managing full gut and interior renovation projects for office or administrative facilities. Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders on complex federal construction projects. Demonstrated ability to support a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Interest in long-term career growth within a company that consistently bids and wins new work. Work Environment Work is performed on base at a naval air station in Indian Head, Maryland, within an active federal installation environment. The project involves a full interior renovation of an office building, including mechanical and low-voltage systems, drywall, framing, and carpet installation. The role requires regular on-site presence to observe and verify construction activities, participate in meetings, and coordinate with project teams. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.48 - $60.10/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
