Maple Grove, MN The Electronics Quality Manager is responsible for the end-to-end product quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance of our proprietary electronic products. This role bridges the gap between R&D, New Product Introduction (NPI), internal manufacturing lines, and external component suppliers. The focus is on embedding quality early into the product lifecycle—ensuring robust Design for Quality (DFQ), high factory yields, and minimum field-failure rates to protect the company's brand reputation. Design for Quality (DFQ): Partner with R&D and Hardware Engineering early in the product lifecycle to conduct DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and ensure products are designed for high manufacturing yield and reliability.

Supplier Quality Governance:

Establish rigorous quality metrics and audit programs for critical electronic component suppliers, custom PCBA fabricators, and semiconductor vendors. Issue and enforce SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Requests) .

NPI Launch & Control Plans:

Define validation testing, advanced product quality planning ( APQP ), and production part approval processes ( PPAP ) to transition products seamlessly from prototyping to volume manufacturing.

Production Floor Oversight:

Oversee Quality Engineers and Inspectors monitoring the internal SMT, AOI/X-ray, ICT (In-Circuit Testing), and final assembly lines to ensure compliance with

IPC-A-610

Class 2/3 standards.

Field Reliability & Analytics:

Monitor field performance data, warranty claims, and customer returns. Drive rigorous Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on field failures using 8D methodologies to implement immediate corrective engineering changes.

Regulatory & Compliance Ownership:

Maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure products satisfy global regulatory requirements (e.g., CE, UL, FCC, RoHS, REACH , ISO 9001, or industry-specific standards like

ISO 13485 / AS9100

).

Test Engineering Collaboration:

Coordinate with Test Engineers to optimize functional testing station coverage, ensuring firmware and hardware defects are caught before the product leaves the factory. Field Failure Rate / Warranty Claim Rate (Defects Per Million Opportunities - DPMO). First Pass Yield (FPY) across SMT and final functional test stations. Time-to-Resolution for NPI quality escapes and CAPAs. Supplier Defect Rate (Inbound PPM).

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a highly technical discipline.

Experience:

5+ years of quality engineering experience in an electronics environment, with at least 2+ years leading teams. Prior experience working within an OEM environment is highly preferred.

Technical Expertise:

Deep knowledge of PCBA manufacturing, HALT/HASS (Highly Accelerated Life Testing), environmental stress screening, and ESD controls. Strong mastery of IPC-A-610 and

J-STD-001

standards.

Certifications:

ASQ-CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or ASQ-CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer) is preferred.

Analytical Skills:

Proficient in statistical process control (SPC), Minitab, and extracting insights from PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP architectures.

Pay:

$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
