Job Description
QA Supervisor Altor Solutions seeks a QA Supervisor to lead quality assurance and testing for custom protective packaging and insulation products. In this manufacturing role, you will supervise QA technicians, oversee inspections and testing, and drive corrective actions to ensure product performance, safety, and compliance. You will develop and refine quality procedures, track key metrics, and collaborate with production and engineering to reduce defects and improve processes. This position supports a safety-first, continuous-improvement culture while working closely with cross-functional teams and customers to maintain high standards and support sustainable, efficient solutions. Supervise QA technicians on all shifts to ensure adherence to quality standards for protective packaging and insulation products Develop, implement, and maintain QA procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans in a manufacturing environment Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal and customer quality issues Monitor and report key quality metrics, driving continuous improvement and cost-of-quality reductions Conduct audits of production processes, documentation, and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Customer Service to address nonconformances and improve process capability Train and coach team members on inspection methods, measurement tools, and quality best practices Support new product introductions with quality plans, first article inspections, and validation activities Ensure safety, housekeeping, and compliance with company policies within the QA area Interface with customers and suppliers on quality requirements, complaints, and improvement initiatives Quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) Statistical process control (SPC) Root cause analysis and corrective action (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D) Inspection and testing methods for manufacturing Use of measurement tools (calipers, gauges, test equipment) Data analysis and quality metrics reporting (e.g., scrap, defects, Cp/Cpk) Document control and procedure development Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools (e.g., Kaizen) Team leadership and shift supervision in a plant environment Customer and supplier quality issue management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
