Job Description

About the Opportunity A growing aerospace and defense manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality initiatives, maintain compliance with industry standards, and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization. This leadership role is responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS), leading quality personnel, supporting customer requirements, and ensuring adherence to AS9100 and
ISO 9001
standards. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team. Establish performance expectations and accountability. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and quality excellence. Support employee growth through coaching, training, and professional development. Quality Management System (QMS) Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System. Ensure compliance with
AS9100, ISO
9001, customer requirements, and internal standards. Manage quality documentation, inspection plans, procedures, and work instructions. Monitor and improve overall quality system effectiveness. Continuous Improvement Drive process improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects and improving product quality. Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Manage nonconformance reporting and resolution activities. Utilize quality metrics and data analysis to identify improvement opportunities. Customer & Supplier Quality Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related customer concerns. Investigate and resolve customer quality issues in a timely manner. Support customer audits, inspections, and quality reviews. Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve quality performance. Audits & Compliance Plan and manage internal and external quality audits. Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory and industry requirements. Support customer audits, surveillance audits, and certification activities. Maintain audit readiness and drive corrective actions as needed. Reporting & Metrics Develop and present quality performance reports to senior leadership. Track and analyze KPIs, quality trends, and improvement initiatives. Provide recommendations to improve operational performance and product reliability. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience managing Quality Management Systems (QMS). Strong knowledge of AS9100 and/or
ISO 9001
standards. Experience with CAPA, root cause analysis, and nonconformance management. Internal and external audit experience. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Aerospace, defense, aviation, or highly regulated manufacturing experience. AS9100 Lead Auditor certification. Experience interacting directly with customers and regulatory agencies. Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience. Knowledge of supplier quality and quality engineering principles. $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
