Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION A
premier structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead quality initiatives across shop and field operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected organization known for delivering high-quality structural steel projects while maintaining a strong, team-oriented culture. The ideal candidate is a hands-on quality leader who can drive compliance, improve processes, and uphold the highest standards throughout fabrication and erection operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage the company's quality control program for fabrication and erection operations Oversee QA/QC activities in both shop and field environments Review drawings, specifications, welding procedures, and inspection requirements Ensure compliance with American Institute of Steel Construction , American Welding Society , and project quality standards Manage WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, and quality documentation Coordinate internal, third-party, and client inspections Perform or oversee weld, bolt, dimensional, and material inspections Manage NCRs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives Train shop and field personnel on quality standards and best practices Support customer audits and American Institute of Steel Construction requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of QC experience in structural steel fabrication and/or erection Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required Strong knowledge of American Welding Society and American Institute of Steel Construction Ability to read structural drawings, welding symbols, and specifications Experience with inspections, audits, documentation, and root cause analysis Proficiency with Microsoft Office
COMPENSATION
$110,000 - $130,000 DOE Bonus potential Full benefits package Long-term growth opportunity
