This role is responsible for overseeing product and process quality across the full manufacturing lifecycle—from design review through machining, assembly, and final inspection. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in dimensional inspection, and quality systems, along with proven leadership experience managing quality teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Quality Leadership & Compliance Lead, and develop a high-performing Quality team, including Quality Engineers, Technicians, and Inspectors. Establish and promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across operations. Set clear quality standards, provide training, and ensure consistency in inspection and validation processes. Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits; ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. Oversee nonconformance reporting, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and documentation control. Ensure accurate records for inspections, calibration, training, and quality metrics. Manufacturing Quality Integration Collaborate with Engineering, Programming, and Production teams to ensure quality requirements are embedded early in the process. Establish in-process inspection checkpoints to reduce defects and rework. Support process capability improvements and variation reduction initiatives. Perform and oversee first article, in-process, and final inspections. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models to validate dimensional compliance. Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement Monitor key quality metrics (scrap, rework, customer complaints, yield) and drive corrective actions. Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and similar methodologies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, inspection accuracy, and operational efficiency. Lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities and ensure timely disposition of non-conforming materials. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the primary quality contact for customer concerns, audits, and escalations. Generate and present quality performance reports to senior leadership. Ensure customer specifications and expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Quality Engineering (or equivalent experience). 5-8+ years of experience in quality management within a precision manufacturing or steel environment. Strong experience with machining processes. Advanced knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation. Proven experience leading or supervising quality teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Preferred Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) or equivalent practical application (DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, etc.). Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, MSA, and SPC methodologies. Experience in aerospace, heavy manufacturing, or tooling environments. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
