Position Overview The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing the quality control work and Technicians at New Hampshire's CRH OpCos. Under the direction of the QC Manager the Supervisor will make decision and coordinate quality control assignments in the lab, at the facilities, and in the field.Competencies Drives Results:

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) Ability to adjust aggregate gradations to ensure compliance Design and fabricate HMA and ready mixed concrete that meets or exceeds the required job specifications. Develop mix designs in accordance withASTM, ACI & AASHTO
standards and guidelines. Conduct tests on HMA, Concrete & Aggregates to determine composition and consistency with required specifications. Direct and assist in adjustment of mix composition to ensure HMA & concrete stays within specifications. Monitor temperature, air, slump and overall condition of concrete during installation. Assist and make recommendations in the process of the installation of ready mixed concrete. Supervise the daily work of the QC Technicians within the area. Ensure that QC techs follow QC Plan and Specs Obtaining and Logging Samples duties may include: Identify and log the individual specimens into the appropriate log.. Design a ready mixed concrete that meets or exceeds requirements set forth in the agency specifications. Design HMA that meets or exceeds requirements set forth in the agency specifications. Monitoring Concrete Quality for Specific Projects duties include: Obtain specification requirements. Test materials to determine gradation of mix components. Communicate with internal and external consultants regarding mix specifications. Communicate and assist plant personnel in adjusting mix formulas to conform to specifications. Produce Concrete that complies with job specifications, continuously making adjustments. Monitoring Concrete Quality for Installation on Specific Projects duties include: Obtain specification requirements. Measure temperature, slump, air and other load properties Obtain Core specimens according to applicable methodology, as needed Communicate with internal and external consultants regarding mix specifications. Communicate and assist installation personnel in adjusting processes to conform to specifications.Research and Development duties include:
Conduct research to investigate more efficient and cost-effective methods of producing and placing quality ready mixed concrete. Analyze statistical data, determine probability of occurrence, and detect derogatory trends. Assist Quality Control Manager in all associated duties. Strive to obtain optimum production in a safe environment. Communicate effectively and work well with other personnel, customers, and state engineers. Have thorough and comprehensive knowledge of all regulatory requirements of job pertaining to transportation, safety, the environment, etc. Take initiative with new concepts and ideas to further the performance and the efficiencies of Redimix Companies, Inc Adhere to all state and federal regulations, if applicable, as set forth by the US Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), or any other regulatory agency. Additional Responsibilities Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision. Report to the assigned job site in uniform and ready to begin work at the designated start time. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual. Strict adherence to Pike Ind/Redimix/Carroll Concrete policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities Assist with Interviewing and hiring process as necessary. Planning, assigning, and directing work. Willingness to develop subordinates' technical and leadership skills and make recommendations for new job opportunities when appropriate. Effective management of employee performance through coaching, feedback (written and verbal), rewards, and discipline when necessary. Appraising performance, including annual evaluations and new employee 60-day evaluations. Addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner. Lead by example. Ability to get work done through others using effective delegation, scheduling, and time management practices. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience The QC Supervisor will have a High School diploma or equivalent, three to five years of experience in Quality Control; or equivalent combination of education and experience.NETTCP HMA
Plant Certification, HMA Paving Inspector & Soils Inspector ACI Field Testing Technician I General Requirements Ability to read English language sufficiently to read information contained in specifications, reports, manuals and regulations. Ability to carry out standardized laboratory tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI and AASHTO standards. Knowledge and understanding of basic operating procedures and mechanics of a ready mix concrete plant. Knowledge and understanding of both HMA Drum & Batch Plants. Understanding of Road and Soils Compaction Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations pertaining to, but not limited to, safety, the environment and transportation. Ability to detect safety hazards and malfunctions and respond accordingly. Ability to operate a two-way radio. Must possess a valid driver's license and dependable transportation to and from the job site. Knowledge/Skill Requirements Ability to perform intermediate mathematical skills, including basic algebra, geometry, and shop math. Ability to use a computer to communicate and analyze data. This includes but is not limited to the use of Outlook, MS Office programs, and web-based programs Ability to communicate both verbally and written.
