Summary:

The Quality Manager will provide a high level of technical competence in all aspects of quality assessment and corrective action including metrology using CMM inspection, SPC, capability studies, probability and root cause analysis, problem solving and quality engineering as it pertains to sheet metal fabrication. In addition to machining, painting, welding and secondary cleaning processes.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Understands and communicates the company vision, strategies, and goals to all departmental personnel
  • Ensures departmental compliance to all corporate policies and procedures
  • Requires a hands-on attitude that includes working directly with product inspection or testing when required
  • Ensures quality standards are met through the maintenance and use of the
ISO 9001

Quality System and other manufacturing support tools. Knowledge of GD&T

  • Interfaces directly with customers and/or Customer Service to ensure that the customer is completely informed about the status of any quality excursions
  • Ensures appropriate resources are available for departmental personnel to perform their jobs well
  • Maintains communication with internal customers and suppliers to ensure smooth flow of work through the department
  • Builds strong sense of teamwork and purpose within and outside the department
  • Occasionally travel between divisions
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Operations or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in progressive quality and quality engineering.
  • 5 years of experience as a QA Manager.
  • Thorough knowledge of print reading and geometric and tolerancing.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems is essential.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite is required.
Skills:
  • Working knowledge of outside finishing processes.
  • Ability to develop extensive knowledge of the types of parts manufactured, and the capabilities of the department.
  • General knowledge of materials, machines and tooling required for sheet metal and machining processes.
